ASCENDING OUR ROOFTOPS – An Introduction

“About noon the following day as they were on their journey and approaching the city, Peter went up on the roof to pray.” – Acts 10:9

The apostle Peter chose the most unlikely place at the most uncomfortable time of the day to pray – it was hot, and he was very hungry.  He was tired and exhausted from travelling yet in the least ideal of circumstances he chose to come before the Lord.

We, in this day and age, have been blessed with amazing comforts and technology that no other previous generation has concocted.  Yet with all these comforts and luxury, we have preoccupied ourselves with less significant things.

Struggling or soothed, sleepless or spirited, may we find peace in the presence of the Prince who provides it all in plenty.  This project is dedicated to inspire those who wish to come to regularly to the wellspring of life we find alone in Christ and this is offered to Him for His glory and honor alone!

Romans 1:20, 24-25 NLT

“For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. So God abandoned them to do whatever shameful things their hearts desired. As a result, they did vile and degrading things with each other’s bodies. They traded the truth about God for a lie. So they worshiped and served the things God created instead of the Creator himself, who is worthy of eternal praise! Amen.”

We have the propensity to call that which is good bad and to treat that which is bad good. We recently visited a remarkable landscape in Caledon called the Badlands – an awesome topography shaped by years of erosion – God’s creation at its finest. It’s too bad that we lacked the creativity to name it more appropriately. I would have called it Marsland as it looks akin to that planet’s surface. I’m just sayin’!

Years of human history have eroded us morally and have taken away our own ability to recognise good vs. bad. We’ve failed immensely in recognising who God is and what He has done since the beginning.

Today, more than ever God beckons us through creation and through His word to acknowledge Him before it is too late. Such magnificent creation designed so beautifully could not have just happened randomly and by sheer chance – a masterful Creator and Designer was behind all of it. Don’t believe me? Well, just take extra time to look in the mirror today! You are special and beautiful in God’s eyes so take a moment to thank Him today…

Everything God created is good.  We made it bad!
