REBORN!

Every now and then it’s important for us to hear from other church members and contributors to enhance various Christian perspectives that this blog means to be a channel of.  It is our pleasure this week to welcome our first guest blogger, from our youth, Maria Isabel Opiniano, as she takes us through a glimpse of the re-starting of our youth ministry.  Thanks, Isabel!

“‘Do not say, I am only a youth; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord.’“ – Jeremiah 1:7-8

This past Sunday, November 8, 2015, GCF Peel Reborn Youth held a small praise event to kick start the re-vamping of the youth ministry. The event consisted of Minute to Win It games and snacks in the front foyer, worship, a short message, special numbers, a team building game, and of course more worship. From beginning to end, it was evident that the Holy Spirit was present. Tears were shed, hearts were moved and the Reborn Youth leaders truly believe that God’s love was felt throughout the whole event.

One of the main goals of this event was to bring the Christian youth community, from within GCF Peel and from other churches, together. By the end of the night, our goal was fulfilled when we saw people stepping out of their comfort zones, introducing themselves to new people and making new friends. We trust that God planted seeds into the hearts of the youth and we believe that God will continue to nurture and help us grow to achieve the potential he has put in us all.

This event was just the beginning of many exciting things God has planned for GCF Peel Reborn Youth and we continue to pray for the furtherance of His kingdom through this ministry. In anticipation of the potential that God is going to bring forth through us, we are left with Jeremiah 1:7-8, “‘Do not say, I am only a youth; for to all to whom I send you, you shall go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the Lord.’“
